Dear Residents,
🏠 Darker Nights – Keeping Your Home Safe As the nights draw in and it gets darker earlier, we would like to remind residents to take a few simple precautions to help keep their homes and belongings secure. 🔐 Lock up – Ensure doors and windows are properly locked, including sheds, garages and side gates. 💡 Light up – Consider using timer switches or smart lighting so your home appears occupied when you are out. External security lighting can also be useful around entrances and pathways. 🔑 Keep keys secure – Avoid leaving house or vehicle keys close to doors, windows or letterboxes. 📦 Keep valuables out of sight – Do not leave valuable items where they can easily be seen through windows. 🚗 Secure your vehicle – Check your vehicle is locked, windows are closed and valuables have been removed from view. 👀 Look out for your neighbours – If you have elderly, vulnerable or isolated neighbours, please consider checking in on them and reporting anything suspicious. Taking a few moments to review your home security can help reduce opportunities for crime. If you see suspicious activity, please report it to the police. If a crime is taking place or someone is in immediate danger, always call 999. Stay safe and look out for one another. | ||
