Dear Resident, Shrewsbury Rural SNT would like to take this opportunity to raise your awareness of Courier Fraud. 🚨 Be suspicious if someone tells you: There has been a fraudulent transaction on your bank card, or your card needs replacing.You must withdraw cash and hand it to a courier, police officer, or bank representative for "safe keeping" or as part of an investigation.You need to purchase expensive goods and hand them over for inspection or evidence.Corrupt bank staff have stolen money from your account, and you need to withdraw funds to assist an investigation.A business, such as a jeweller or currency exchange, is acting fraudulently and you are required to help gather evidence.Remember Your bank, the police, or any legitimate organisation will never ask you to withdraw cash or purchase goods as part of an investigation.Never hand cash, bank cards, PINs, or valuables to a courier.If in doubt, end the call and contact your bank using a trusted number.Report cyber crime If you are currently being subjected to a live and ongoing cyber-attack, then please contact us on 101.
