Fire Safety

Dear resident,

We would like to warn everyone of the current dangers to how easily fires can spread and take hold in the current high temperatures with fields and verges going brown and drying out quickly. 

Recently Upton-upon-Severn Safer Neighbourhood Team have had to deal with four young children due to them being witnessed starting a couple of small fires within the Hanley Swan area. 

We were able to identify these young children and have managed to speak to all of them in company with their supportive parents and warn them about the dangers of starting fires, especially during this current dry spell.

The details of the children will be forwarded to colleagues in the Fire Service who will also engage with them. 

I would like to ask all those responsible for children at home to not leave any matches or cigarette lighters within easy distance of them.
