Vehicle Recovery in Arleston |
||
|
PCSO Harris and PCSO Evans from the Arleston and College Safer Neighbourhoods Team have today recovered a vehicle on Princess avenue that was declared SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification) but was found parked on the public highway.
To make matters worse, the vehicle was parked on a junction, causing an obstruction and creating a hazard for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians by reducing visibility for road users.
A SORN vehicle must be kept off public roads and on private land such as a driveway. Vehicles that are untaxed, uninsured, or causing an obstruction may be subject to enforcement action, including recovery which was what happened in this case.
We understand that parking can sometimes be challenging, but junctions must be kept clear to ensure everyone can travel safely and to allow emergency vehicles access when needed.
Thank you to the members of the public who continue to report concerns and help keep our roads safe. If it wasn't for the members of the public who told us about this car, it would have been unnoticed and left there.
