📢 Community Alert – Orcop Hill Incident On Thursday, 6 March 2026, a resident of Orcop Hill reported to police that at approximately 14:30 hours, an unknown white VW panel van, later confirmed to be from outside the county, entered their private property without notice. The occupants were observed looking around outbuildings and enquiring about items. When challenged by the resident, the individuals left the location.
🚨 Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour immediately. 🔐 Property Security Suggestions Secure all outbuildings with high-quality locks and consider installing motion‑activated lighting.Ensure CCTV systems are functioning and cover access points where possible.Keep gates closed and locked during daytime and nightime when unexpected callers may approach.Avoid engaging alone with uninvited visitors where possible — maintain a safe distance and do not disclose property details.Record vehicle details (make, model, colour, registration) if safe to do so.Photograph and record all valuable items such as power tools and machinery with serial numbersDo NOT leave vehicles with keys, have keys stored in a safe location such as a coded safe boxConsider CCTV signage to go with any CCTV already in place or if not to act as another deterrent Report suspicious activity to police via 101, or 999 in an emergency.
