Practical course for mature drivers in Telford & Wrekin: Just £20 thanks to PCC funding.

Mature drivers living in Telford & Wrekin are able to take advantage of a heavily subsidised course that helps increase confidence and sharpen driving skills, thanks to funding from West Mercia Police & Crime Commissioner John Campion.

Delivered by IAM RoadSmart, in partnership with West Mercia Police Road Safety Team, the Mature Driver Review course normally costs £86.50 but is currently available for just £20.

The 1-hour review is carried out by an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) in the motorist’s own car, from their home address, on roads familiar to them and they can take a relative or friend if they prefer - offering a trusted, impartial appraisal of driving skills.

So if you missed out on this offer last time we ran it, or simply feel you could benefit from this course, don’t delay in booking your place!

Eligibility criteria:

You must live in a Telford & Wrekin postcode area. (This is due to the availability of some partnership funding for that particular geographic area).

This is a limited offer. Subsidised courses will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis and this current offer ends on 31st March 2026.

If you have undertaken a Mature Driver Review in the last 12 months which has been subsidised by West Mercia Police / PCC, you will not be eligible. This is to ensure subsidised training reaches as many people as possible within funding constraints.
