Car trapped in Floodwater with three people inside.

This morning Fire, ambulance and Police were called to three people who were stuck in a car that had driven into floodwater in Upton Upon Severn.

On arrival the three were inside the vehicle with water up to the top of their legs.

Fire Fighters from Hereford and Worcester Fire service launched a raft to rescue them.

Luckily they were all returned to dry land safe and sound.

Given the dangers of floodwater, a number of fire and Police units attended the scene along with the ambulance.

A timely reminder that it is not safe to enter flood water. You don't know what manholes could have been lifted by flood water or what currents and under currents could be present.
