Volunteers carried out Community Speed Watch in Honeybourne yesterday afternoon. They detected 5 motorists driving excessively. Community Speed Watch is an educational scheme to help people reduce speeding traffic though their community. The scheme enables volunteers to work within their community to raise awareness of the dangers of speeding and to help control the problem locally. If any other villages are keen to start up something like this in their area, please make contact with me and I will assist in helping set it up. The scheme is not there to replace conventional methods of speed enforcement (i.e. Police and Speed Enforcement Vans), but more so to provide extra support to tackling speeding in a specific area and help make the community feel more involved in enforcing speed limits in their area.
