'Street Watch'-Volunteer initiative in Wythall

What is 'Street Watch'?

Members of the public, with no policing powers, undertake civilian street patrols within the area in which they live as volunteers.

Volunteers reduce the fear of crime by conducting high visibility patrols within the communities they live.

They provide a community liaison with their local Safer Neighbourhood Teams.

Volunteers are not tasked by Police, however they accept the guidance that West Mercia Police provide must be followed.

They patrol in pairs for a minimum of two hours a month.

All new 'Street Watch' members will undergo a 2 hour training session.

A high visibility jacket is also provided.
