Pershore officers join partner agencies for HGV Operation

Officers from Pershore Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) conducted a joint operation with partners yesterday (Thursday 24 July) targeting heavy goods vehicles.

The multi-agency op was the third in three weeks which have been in response to community concerns around the town.

SNT officers worked in conjunction with the Environment Agency, HMRC, the DVSA, Wychavon District Council and our Roads Policing Unit, supported by officers from Evesham, Droitwich and Malvern SNTs.

Over the course of the last few weeks numerous vehicles have been stopped and so far, five have been seized for numerous traffic and waste offences.

These include having no insurance, no operator licence, no MOT or tax, insecure loads and vehicle defects along with incorrect waste management removal paperwork.

Investigations are ongoing in relation to the offences.

We will continue to target HGVs that are not complying with the law to keep members of the public and other road users safe.
