Bogus Charity Workers

Over the last few months there have been a number of reported incidents where females have been targeting elderly men and women in town centres, at retail parks and on supermarket car parks.  Females are claiming to be collecting for charity, who have then stolen or attempted to steal from the victims.

The offenders are usually female and of Eastern European origin carrying clipboards and are asking the victims to enter their details onto a charity form which includes their name, address, signature and donation amount.  They are then asked to show them a bank card to confirm their signature.  This is merely a distraction which creates an opportunity for offenders to commit a theft from person.

Please keep your personal items safe if approached by such people.
