Follow West Mercia Police in new BBC series: Murder 24/7

Starting next week, you can follow the real-time work of detectives in West Mercia Police’s major investigation unit in the BBC Two series, Murder 24/7.

The team have been working alongside the BBC for two years, giving them unprecedented access to the behind-the-scenes work that has led to them solving some of the most serious, complex and heartbreaking cases the force has ever dealt with.

The series follows murder cases in Shropshire and Worcestershire, from the chilling initial 999 calls right through to convictions at court. It shines a light on the relentless dedication and specialist expertise of officers and staff across the force in their pursuit of justice for victims and their families.

Chief Constable Richard Cooper said: “Murder 24/7 offers a powerful and unfiltered look at the extraordinary teamwork and compassion shown by our officers and staff in the most heartbreaking of circumstances. These are not just investigations—they are stories of real people, real loss, and the pursuit of justice. We will always remember that behind every case is a life lost and loved ones left behind, who must never be forgotten.”

The first three episodes of the series will air at 9pm on Monday 16th, Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th June on BBC Two and will also be available on and BBC iPlayer.
