On Thursday 29th May 2025 I dropped into St. Peter's Church for the Sea chanty night. What a brilliant group, very talented singers and musicians who welcomed me in. For the rest of the shift, I was singing: “Blow the man down, bullies, blow the man down Not a bad thing for me, but no one else wants to hear that. I love to see community events going on in the area!
On Friday 30th May I was at the KDYT event, This was a great event; weather was lovely and lots of people turned up. This was a busy event, where I got chatting to lots of groups that arrived. Lots of uniform was tried on. I have seen some formidable, budding, public order officers and even what could be a new trend; roller skating officers (let’s see what management say).

When I joined the team I wanted to be an officer that was out an about, seen on foot and believe it is important to “know thy patch”. I have walked most areas on patch now, but Burlish Top was someone I have never, properly, walked around in my ten years of working Kidderminster. I had a stroll and met some very nice dog walkers on they way around, who I stopped and had a chat with. Unfortunately, ongoing issues of off road bikers is the topic of lots of conversations. I have some nice conversations with people as I walk, usually started with “ITS NICE TO SEE AN OFFICER WALKING ABOUT”. I aim to make this a more common sight.
On our patrols today, we have come across a bike unsafe to be on the road and no insurance. This has reportedly been driving around causing ASB. This has now been safely taken off the road preventing injury to the community and even the teenagers riding it.
I had a reply to last week’s message. This was views on policing and sentencing for knife crime. This week I was able to have a chat, in person, with him about this topic. Thank you for reading my messages and the replies you send. I do read them and if I can do anything to help, I will try.
