On Thursday 15th May 2025, PCSO Price and PCSO Liston were out and about in the Newport area conducting a speed survey between 09:40am and 10:20am.

Marsh Road, Edgmond (30mph):

20 vehicles were checked with the average speed being 24.55 mph.

All drivers observed were travelling within the speed limit.

These surveys were carried as part of OP Spotlight a Police initiative promoting the Fatal Four. Also a response to some concerns raised by residents regarding the perceived speed of some vehicles and in line with the local Policing Charter. If you have concerns around speeding, please share these with your town councillors who can raise them when we discuss any future policing priorities for the area.

We will continue to conduct speed surveys and will consider enforcement where excessive speed is observed.
