Special Constables on patrol

Have you thought about becoming a special constable? I joined three of our Special constables on Friday as part of a traffic operation organised by PC Maddocks SNT officer as part of April #FatalFour campaign.

The Fatal Four are Speeding or inappropriate speed, Not wearing a seatbelt, Driving under the influence of drink or drugs, Distractions, such as mobile phone.

SC Flavell, Shaw, and Rawson are service special constables and wear the same uniform and have the same police powers as a regular constable, the attend their duty as volunteers.

During the evening the officers dealt with numerous drivers who were not wearing a seatbelt, one of which had four children on the back seat of his car!

A vehicle was seized after checks showed the driver was uninsured and Road Traffic Collision (RTC) where the one vehicle failed to stop and left the scene of the collision.

We also attended an illegal street race on Mossey Green Way where reports of modified cars with loud exhausts were using the dual carriageway as a racetrack!

If you want to become a special constable follow the link (no upper age limit no applies)
