West Mercia Police’s Cyber Crime team will be hosting a series of digital workshops for professionals and those who work in the education sector or is currently caring for a child. The Cyber Choices Programme was created to help people make informed choices and to use their cyber skills in a legal way. Notably, Cyber Choices is now listed in the KCSIE 2023 which means that all Headteachers and Safeguarding Leads should have an awareness of the risk from cyber offending amongst young persons and how to reach out to the Cyber Choices team. During the one-hour session, we will cover: Explaining the difference between legal and illegal cyber activity. Encouraging individuals to make informed choices in their use of technology. Increasing awareness of the Computer Misuse Act 1990. Promoting positive legal cyber opportunities.
